Why is SpeedRead the Best?

We don’t like to brag, but since you asked…

Less Interference
Our competitors typically use the 900 megahertz spectrum for transmitting data. This is the same spectrum used by millions of other consumer devices such as cordless phones, wireless stereos, and modern home wireless communication systems. Because of congestion in this range, many of our competitors’ solutions may suffer from interference in sending a transmission of the meter read data over their wireless network.

SpeedRead Technologies doesn’t use the congested 900 megahertz RF spectrum. Instead, we are leading the way by deploying AMR submetering solutions in the 450 MHz to 470 MHz range. At this frequency, the SpeedRead solution transmits meter reads free from interference, creating a more reliable and robust solution.

  Fewer Repeaters
A simple rule in RF wireless networks is that the distance that a signal
can travel decreases as the frequency of the signal increases. Because
we use a lower frequency, the SpeedRead signal travels further than
many of our competitors. The result is often a lower total solution cost.

Many of our competitors typically deploy more Repeaters throughout the
property complex to amplify the signal. Each Repeater comes at a cost
however. The more Repeaters required, the higher the total cost of the
solution. The SpeedRead solution is highly cost competitive because it
  requires fewer Repeaters.

Plus, with fewer Repeaters, the total lifetime ownership of the SpeedRead
system is more cost competitive. When Repeaters are damaged or fail,
they have to be replaced. With fewer Repeaters in the SpeedRead
solution, your AMR submetering system is less likely to fail, creating a
  more reliable and robust solution.

Fewer Transmitters
For AMR submetering to deliver on its promises, every rental unit must be metered and the meter read must be transmitted for billing. Most of our competitors use one Transmitter per meter to read the meter and transmit the signal. The SpeedRead solution however allows for ten meters to be connected to a single Transmitter. It is a true multi-port solution.

With multiple meters connected to a single Transmitter, the total cost of the SpeedRead solution can be lower than a solution with one Transmitter per meter.
